Today is Saturday and a pootling bike ride and picnic are on the agenda. So this calls for comfort and warmth. Practical modern garments with a nostalgic flavour mean that I can feel like myself but can avoid the tears if I end up covered in mud in my best threads.
I opted for navy and black layers with a tweed cape. Accessorised with vintage shades- and a bike helmet! Tres chic!
Cardi – Cos
Long black jumper dress – Topshop
Sea-blue leggings – Forever21
Cape – Zara
Shades – 1950s, gifted
Booties – Office
Perspex necklace – Wolf + Moon
Gold belt – Vintage, thrifted
The black Topshop jumper dress is about a zillion years old and is starting to wear thin, but its great for layering up on weekend jaunts, and the midnight blue Cos cardi is super warm- and because it has a subtle sparkle and sharp cut it can be worn up or down. The Zara cape I was given to me by my mum for Christmas several years ago and it’s just perfect for transitional times of year- not too hot nor too cold; I’ve been dying for a chance to wear it on the bike. It was perfect! (In writing this I’ve just realised that my mum in fact gave me pretty much this entire outfit, over the years!!! WOW. Mama gots good taste!)
